Teacher Development/ study visit in UK
International Teacher Development programme
This programme is available to head teachers who wish to improve their international links and grow academically.
The programme will allow your school to explore England’s high standards of education and culture, develop leadership and management skills and explore the educational environments of young learners at nursery school level through to high school. This is achieved through high quality teaching and various visits throughout the UK.
-Programme objectives:
● To develop head teachers’ management and leadership skills through a democratic leadership style.
● To develop and explore teaching and planning methods.
● To introduce and explore the concept of TESOL- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
● To create an awareness of the need for education to be student/child centred.
-Programme outcomes:
● A teacher training certificate issued by Birmingham College.
● An enhanced knowledge of British culture and educational system.
● Established educational links with the UK.
This programme is ideal for head teachers of recipient schools on our China Work Placement and International Collaboration programmes. The programme is also flexible to suit the needs of the client.
INTERNATIONAL Study visit/summer school
-Overview
The aim of this programme is to develop students’ English skills by giving them the opportunity to be taught by qualified native speakers and to give them the opportunity to experience learning and living in an English speaking country, developing their cultural and linguistic awareness in a flexible, affordable package.
A typical visit will include 2 weeks of English language study at the college for 15 hours/week. The classes will cover all aspects of English from grammar to pronunciation. Listening, speaking, reading and writing will all be covered with a student centred approach. There will also be a visit to a popular tourist destination included in the price.
This is a highly flexible programme offering the option of business English and academic English sessions if desired.

to cater for the specific needs of individual groups.
- Accommodation (based on 3 sharing, Bed and Breakfast)
- Welcome Party
- 15 hours per week English lessons at Birmingham College
- A visit to a popular tourist destination (Possible options include: the cities of Bath, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Cambridge, Oxford, London or Manchester, or any other destination desired by the group. )
- A range of half day visits and activities available including visits to local museums, cultural centres and local tourist attractions.
- British culture/film night at Birmingham College
- Graduation ceremony

The standard price for the programme is £900 for 2 weeks per student. As the programme is highly flexible, the price is negotiable and will reflect the desired package of the individual group.
There are no set dates for the programme to take place; therefore groups are encouraged to contact the college with their preferred dates to see if an agreement can be reached.
-Additional Information
- All students must be 16 or older.
- Groups are required to provide their own insurance cover for the duration of the stay.
- Flights are not included in the price of the package.
- At least one member of staff, known to the group members is required to accompany the students to the UK and to stay with them for the duration of the visit.
Please Note the above Programmes are offered by Birmingham College UK. Every participator will be certified by Birmingham College at the end of the course.
